salzburg & vienna, austria
visiting austria in december was a blitz of morning fog, christmas markets, pretzels bigger than my head and enough glühwein to sink a battleship.
salzburg was a more suburban experience as we stayed in the actual von trapp family home which is located inside a national park and yes, the hills were alive with the sound of paula singing julie andrews' finest.
vienna countered with a more classical european capital city experience, full of history and a more buzzing cultural scene. we stayed in a very inspiring artist's atelier, hung out in little bohemian cafes and that theme park from 'before sunrise' soaking up the vibes and getting lost in side alleys.
